Musicians
Our area musicians are the mainstay of our organization.
Ted Aarrestad
Ted has been the Music Director and Conductor of the Symphonic Band and Jazz Ensemble since 1989. Under his leadership, the Symphonic Band has been involved in several projects in the Wausau community, including an outreach trip to China during the summer of 2004. Mr. Aarrestad earned both his Bachelor's and Master's in Music Education from the University of Minnesota. While there, he was Graduate Assistant Director of Bands and was elected into the academic music honor society "Phi Beta Lambda." He is also the Musical Director for the D.C. Everest High School band program. Ted was named D.C. Everest High School Teacher of the Year for 1998. In addition, he was awarded the Herb Kohl Achievement Award for Teachers in 1996.
Dan Larson
Dan has been the Music Director and Conductor for the Wausau Symphony since 2004. Dan is a well known musician in the Wausau community with his extensive involvement in music. He has composed original scores and conducted Allegro Dance/Wausau Symphony productions of The Ugly Duckling, Cinderella and the Little Mermaid. He has also been musical conductor for numerous Community Theatre, Central Wisconsin Children's Theater and Wausau East End Players productions. He currently is Vocal/General Music Teacher at Horace Mann Middle School plays the organ at First English Lutheran Church. Dan has been a musician in the Wausau Symphony, Band and Jazz Band for 15 years.
